I've been using them in our Delectable events; catered parties, even cascading over wedding cakes!
From the beginning of the year up till about just recently; I've felt the macaron craze from different parts of the world. It didn't take Malaysia long to jump onto the bandwagon.
I've been seriously thinking about making a mini macaron bar at our stores. Have been working on the idea the past couple of days.
Let me know what you think. Are you into macarons? If yes; what flavours.. if not; Why?

so pretty, I love the colors.
You so should! I'm crazy for macarons and think they would be a fantastic addition to your store. The macaron wedding cake is fantastic x
Sounds like a fab idea! I've never eaten one of those french macarons - only english almond macaroons or coconut macaroons they are very different!
Alas, you're too far for me to go out and buy the macarons too! How about a masterblog post on how to recreate these beautiful babies at home?
go ahead n do it! well u might as well since everyone is so crazy about it..
i tried the salted caramel in melbourne recently, i like the combo!
hi su, i think the macaron hype has kinda died down a little. there will still be people buying and enjoying them but i'm not really sure if it's all a good idea to dive into a bar and all. but that's just my observation - in singapore, there's tons of shops selling macarons and now, classes to teach people how to make them. so i think the craze has died down a little. just a thought :)
Wow, that wedding cake looks beautiful! I love the macarons on it, very pretty. Macarons are delicious - you should definitely have them in your store, they would sell really quickly!
These macaroons are the most gorgeous colors I have ever seen. I bet they taste divine. I would definately add the macaroon bar as I think these will create a real "wow" factor! These are a winner.
AYE AYE AYE AYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Interesting! I'm gonna buy them as soon as it's on the rack!
Well, any favor will do. :D
Ive been searching for good macs in msia.. and it seems to be zero found in kuala lumpur.
I would be really happy to find macs like i had in san frans by Paulette. they cater the best and prettiest macs in my opinion. check out on their website for some inspiration. and definately, earl grey is the best flavour :D
I do think that macs make the best wedding favor. hope you have them in store before my wedding. (:
i really2 love if you could put up macarons at delectables... I'll be the 1st to buy it!! hehehehe... i wish to have pink macarons with raspberry filling, milk choc macarons and choc macarons with dulce de leche filling.. might be some with pralines and hazelnut.. heheheheh.....
Those macaroons look delicious! And it looked really cool on the wedding cake.
I think it would be a good idea to do what PlumLeaf wrote, and make a masterblog post on how to make them at home.
i love macarons!!!! nyum!!!!
...and choc is my favourite coz the cocoa makes it not tad sweet :))
Maybe make it limited edition Delectable macarons?
yes, you should! perhaps some Asian flavours to be diff? Horlicks, Lemongrass, Kaya
You must! I've been meaning to ask whenever I saw you but kept forgetting. Anyway... you must!!
BTW, LOVE the moist chocholate cake at Delectable Treats!!
macs r my fav!!!! I luv bitter choc (which i tot sweet milk choc is abit normal, bcuz macs r expensiv I would say among pastries(erm im not sure it's categorized in pastries?!)so I will choose to spend on not-so-common-flavors) Hazelnut is awesome!!! Passionfruit is also nice with its sour-ish taste (I bet msians like sour stuff) & I guess flavors like strawberry n raspberries are most lovable by the crowd.. I did tried jasmine flavour (hehe fr pierre herme), not bad though :D why not try abit "msian-ish" flavors in future like santan or gula malacca (caramel sounds like gula malacca in a way, haha!) I'd only tried one at Whisk! Is thre any other cafes I can find macarons?
love maccaroons too..yep make them all..international flavours, local flavours..so cant wait su!!..get the bar too!
I would really like to try a macaron and plan on making them myself. They are too expensive to buy.
I saw them RM14/2pcs at the Godiva Cafe. I do hope that you'll make them affordable because the ingredients are not very expensive. Isn't it just almond meal, egg whites and sugar? I know the technique is a bit fiddly but RM14 for two bites is a little bit out of my budget. I don't even spend that much on a whole meal.
Love, love, love macarons. They are all the hype now in Australia. I love the salted caramel ones and the strawberry white chocolate ones. Lindt cafe here has a wonderful selection.
I love macarons. As long as they are not too sweet. I would love macarons with malaysia flavors: pandan, durian, mangosteen, jackfruit, nangka, rambutan!!!
That would be awesome!
OMG...Macarons...Love to the max, it's like RM6 each in France..gosh, love it.
Yes Yes Yes!
Hazelnut & Salted Caramel
i love macarons! ANY macaron!
yes i do like them but i agree w Jamie Y where i think the craze is not as crazy now. perhaps just an addition to delectable treats? a bar would be too much :) for flavours, the classic chocolate and vanilla flavours and hazelnut. i tried champagne ones before which were okay and oh passion fruit! im not really loving the multi-coloured one in your post though.
Really so pretty! Color selection was awesome.
SALTED CARAMEL macarons!
Pistachio & white choc yum. :)
surely it's a good idea~maybe can have a weekly or monthly change-flavor macaron concept meanwhile keep some classic flavors macaron for all time :D
I wonder if it is posible to make like mini macarons and place it on cupcakes...
YES!! salted caramel, hazelnut milk choc. in general, if not overly sweet, macarons are the best!!
macarons.. why not??? i've never tasted then be4 but would love to get my hands on them soon. i think the market is huge out there for tiny little things called macarons!
all the best!
ps: my flavor is green tea!
Yes definately! It really is the latest craze. I beg to differ from those people who said the craze has died down as So far I hv only found it in 2 places in KL and I know lots of people who lurve them.
i had the best lychee macoroons from an event once and have been craving them since.
Oh yes pls make some delectable macarons. I just love macarons lots! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. I know it's busy time for you, but dont forget to slow down once a while and breath. :) Love to you!
I <3 Macarons! My fave flavors would be Blueberry, Rose, Tiramisu, Green tea, and Chocolate! Maybe it would be nice if you could whip up some Su's-Original-Flavour Combo. Heehehehe :D
just ate a macaroon from shangri-la last week...it was awesome~~~
you should come out with your own special macaroon~ i would definitely love to get it~yums
My god Sue!u should sooo try the macarons at Whisk at Empire Gallery, they're as good as Ladurée and Pierre Hermé :)
I like jam filled macarons. Framboise or casis or strawberry or lemon or lime etc

I dont know why,but I dont really like ones with creamy fillings.
Your macarons look just fabulous!!
what is there to think about????
=D

maybe you could do a series of them 'for a limited time only' to test the waters...
m
WOW!!... so much to think about! LOL thanks guys for the feedback; both positive and negative ones.. very much appreciated. Hmm I've just been doing some math and some planning and after much contemplation.. I've decided that the idea should be put on hold. At the end of the day; I just still feel macarons aren't one of those things suited to the general malaysian palate.
but you should make macarons! it's amazing and people (like me) would just love to devour them. oh please pleaseeeeeeeee make macarons ):
