Gone fishing~

I made a cake for a dinner I wasn't invited to...
............ *hmph*
*pout*.....
....*grin*... :PIt was a surprise 60 th birthday party for a friend of moms. The birthday boy...er..'man' is an avid fisher. Everyone loved how realistic and quaint the tiny cake was (so I heard~). It wasn't really meant to feed 15 tables of guests at a Chinese dinner reception, just something pretty to display I guess.

The cake (soil bit) was my famous chocolate whiskey; everything but the fishing rod and the foil on the gold chocolate fish was edible. They were made from flower paste, fondant and hand painted with food colouring. Wasn't too complicated, no sculpting involved...the rock was almost free form; took me less than a day.

I'm pretty busy our Chinese New Year reunion dinner tonight...Mom and I are cooking up a storm; can't stay too long procrastinating on my laptop. Will update everyone with whats cooking soon. *toodles* XOXO
