Being adventurous in the kitchen has its pro's and con's.....it hits me extra hard when luck isn't on my side. I go through recipes by the pile daily; in search for something interesting/attractive to try out.
Most of the time I come across bland and uninventive lists of ingredients, basic ideas and dodgy looking cookbooks with recipes that don't really sound convincing at all. I scan through these trying to look for inspiration and new combinations to try out. Every Chinese new year, I like going for something different; keeping in mind that delicious "tradtional/cliche" festive cookies and baked goods will probably be sold in abundance at local supermarkets.
I've been trying out recipes from piles of mom's treasure throve of books; playing with combinations and working with new proportions from newer cookbook editions.
It just hasn't been a good week for me. I've been making 1/2 portions of every recipe as the festive season creeps by; in search of one worthy of replication by the dozen. Havn't found one yet...havn't made a batch worthy of a blog post of it's recipe. Wish me lots of luck guys! I do apologize for the late email replies and enquiries; I'm trying my best guys....bare with me *grin*. I'll be at it again tommorow. I really hope I'll get one right soon; it's starting to wear out my confidence.Patience and perserverance is the key!~---> too bad I'm hopeless at both. *slaps forehead*

kitchen hand: thanks for the words of encouragement, it's nice to know there are others like me out there~ haha..it finally worked out for me though :)...i'm learning more everyday.
