A Scroll? cake-like bun? scone?

Oh~ I give up!
....I have no idea how these should be classified. They don't exactly have the consistency of a bun (it's more of a cake-than it is bread); and from my questionable dough-handling-skills, the scroll designs on the top didn't exactly work out (sigh* I'm such an amateur with pastry+bread).
I pulled this one out from a weekly magazine; gave it a couple of alterations to the flavour + spicing before giving it a go. The professionals (of course) got the whole 'scroll' thing going in their photographs, but mine unfortunately turned out looking like lumps of dough stuck together. It did however get the thumbs up from all my taste testers...and I personally devoured 2 'lumps' of em' fresh out of the oven! *greedy grin* I blame the intoxicating aroma of cinnamon and apple as it was baking in the oven. I'm not too good with resisting sweet smelling yummy thing-ies! :P
Here's the recipe.
2 cups self raising flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp mixed spice
60gms lightly softened butter (chilled) chopped into small 1 inch cubes
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sultanas
1 coarsely grated green apple (peel and core before grating)
dashings of cinnamon powder
flour to dust surface + butter to grease baking tray

Combine flour, brown sugar and spices in a large bowl. Add in butter cubes and ligtly rub with your fingertips till mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Try not to melt the butter completely; avoid touching it with palms/warm hands. Make a well in the center and add in milk; gently incorporate with your hands till a soft dough is formed. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead for 2 minutes till smooth. Roll it out to 25 x 30cm rectangle. Sprinkle the grated apple and sultanas. Roll rectangle up into a log and cut crossways into twelwe 2 cm thick slices. Arange scrolls onto baking tray, add lashings of cinnamon to taste and bake in preheated 200 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Here's the proportions for the drizzle of white chocolate. Leave this out if you aren't too big a fan of sweets.
180gms white chocolate(roken into smll pices) + 1/4 cup hot milk.
**I made mine in the microwave in 20 second zaps. Use a double boiler if you aren't too confident.
I hope you wont be put off by the way mine turned out. The way it looks here doesn't do it justice at all! I bet you could probably do a better job with the scrolls than I have. They taste wonderful~
It's apple + cinnamon + white chocolate!! ...Could you possibly doubt its delicious-ness? *grin*
