Speaking to sugar-y creatures

Su has been in the mood for all things 'cute-sy' the past week or so.

I frown at the thought of yet another 'cute' themed cupcake project stringing into my sketch pad week after week. I guess it just isn't my favourite style or theme to work with. One thing I can't deny; they are actually so fun to do! It's just something about using pastel colours and sculpting cute little animals that relaxes me like no other.
If you gave me a simple square cake to drape in icing; or 50 animals to sculpt. I'd pick shaping my 3d animals over covering the cake any day! haha.. i like modeling creatures.
Speaking about modeling creatures.. I have a confession to make.
This peculiar habit that i've had since my very first sugar bunny I made with pieces of fondant.
I'm often caught speaking to my creatures... continuously...
Haha I'm not sure what this little seal is saying back. But he looks pretty puzzled. Maybe he doesn't know who to give his heart to. Aww... isn't he sweet.
..poor Lil baby polar bear here can't seem to find his fish...and How about tiny Mr Penguin? I bet his name is Steve... doesn't he look like a Steve to you? *rolls on the floor laughing* Ahhh... I'm a nut.

The 'Arctic' themed cupcakes were done specially for a mom's 5 year old from a very thoughtful colleague of hers. She trusted me completely with whatever theme I fancied.. there were barely any instructions given and sigh* it was just amazing being able to mould cute creatures as I wished! I fear creatures which need to look a 'specific' way! Like a batman! or a worse yet a ninja turtle... oh hell.. Those would generally take me days to complete. These impromptu animals are the most fun!Eeee!!! Penguins! haha.. my Mom would have torn this cake UP! Haha lucky I delivered it before she got to us; She would have wanted them all for herself.

omg omg, I scream when I see anything related to polar bear. But the cupcakes are the cutest polar bear related stuff I have seen, I screamt so loud. I love the seal puzzle face and awwwhhh, the penguins are real cute too.

When i was in Indonesia, I ordered a turtle cake for my best friend which didn't turn out like what I wanted it to be. I wish there was Su Yin there, all I need was just to tell her " I want turtle theme" and she'd come up with the most adorable turtle cake ever.
