My 22nd Birthday Celebration

I slept in most of the morning...recovering from the happenings the night before. It's afternoon now...and I'm drinking the last bits of beautiful pink rosé champagne guests brought over last night.

My kitchen is still in a mess...
and our staircase still unfortunately reeks of alcohol and puke.
.. It makes me wonder why I bother with having parties at home. *lazy sigh*

I'm in the midst of transferring a load of photographs into my hard drive...and I'm reminded of the many reasons why I decided to throw a party at mine in the first place. The smiling faces in every picture...the joyful memorable moments ...my various groups of friends mingling...pretty foo
d displays..a huge birthday cake...shamefully drunk guests and my face looking too happy in every photograph. *sigh* priceless.
Its much better partying at home when we get embarrassed in private. *giggle*
It still fairly hard for me to believe I'm turning 22. Those who frequent my ramblings...are pr
obably aware of my "age-ing phobia" *laughs* it's okay...my actual birthday is on the 12th of September. I have a couple more days of being young and 21! *wink*
I didn't make much for this years party. In the past...I would slog through 3 days of no rest to prepare food and cake for my own birthday..and wind up having no fun at the party. I came up with a brilliant idea this year...order in PIZZA! *hehe* How lazy..but how ingenious ;)Jo's mom made me 2 double tiered trays of delicious sushi.... even non sushi eaters gobbled them down with glee~
I made a couple batches of nutella cupcakes...

green tea and red bean cupcakes...
mini nasi lemak "cups",Chocolate+strawberry ice cream cake... and that was it!

Jo baked my birthday cake...and helped make a batch of creamy Malibu buttercream to frost. I finished it off with a tiny figurine of myself baking cookies...and prepared colourful condiments for everyone!

I baked and frost cakes for everyone at their birthdays...it's time for them to frost mine this year! *giggle*By the end of the night the cake was Disastrous! ...But oh so cute...hehe..I loved every bit of it! Everyone had soo much fun just going crazy on the cake. They even got creative with the little doll I had of myself. At the end of the night...I had a nose ring; blue hair extensions...fish lips and a pretty crown on my head! *laughs* I thought it looked marvelous! I loved it! Everyone contributed to it and had a heap of fun...It was the best birthday cake ever!
I'll be having the recipes for the cupcakes and icecream cake I made posted here soon... I need a break... finish my glass of my pink champagne..and head off to clean up the kitchen.

**A last note to everyone who showed up last night (I know most of you guys stalk my life on my blog :) hehe)..THANKS SO MuCH for coming over. Thanks heaps for the presents...they were all very thoughtful! Perfect and marvelous!... I had a blast at the party! I'm sorry If I didn't get to talk to everyone most of the night... I hope my housemates and Jo kept you entertained. I also do apologize about the food running out so quickly! *laughs* I really didn't expect so many to turn up all at once! I naively assumed 6 large pizza's, a gazillion sushis and 35 mini "nasi lemaks" would feed 30! guess not...hehe.
anyhow; just wanted to say........I love you all!
