Linda sent her love from miles away...

Linda moved to New York with her family just recently; leaving behind...friends and memories. She was very thoughtful and sweet to remember her Thai friend; Karn's birthday last weekend.

Linda had placed an order for a surprise birthday gift for Karn months in advance!
I was only too happy to receive a cake order with a sushi theme! *giggle* Karn is a Japanese sushi chef and Linda had wrote many suggestions and ideas in her emails about what I could make out of cake. She trusted my flair with cake designs and decided to let me surprise her!
I was extremely excited and enthusiastic as I've never had the opportunity to make a sushi themed cake!
I initially thought of sculpting large sushi's or desserts out of cake, but decided it was just too uninteresting...and the idea is old... the idea of me making a design that has been done before is disturbing ...*rolls eyes* hehe.
Well...here's what I did instead.
A sushi Train!

On the morning of delivery; Karn didn't react too enthusiastically to the cake I presented to her.
It got me a little worried.

That evening; Linda wrote me an email thanking me for the delivery and quoting Karn's email to her thanking her for the "the most beautiful b'day cake that shes had in her whole life". I was relieved...it all worked out well after all. *sigh*
Satisfied customer...satisfied birthday girl...satisfied baker..
Life is wonderful.
*laughs*

It's bedtime for this proud little Décorateur ~ early morning classes at uni really do tick me off. I'm good to wake at 7am for whipping up fun breakfast foods in the kitchen~; But waking up at 9 to drag my feet across the street for class is a different story altogether. *bitter*

Su Yin,

It is really a pretty cake. You even made the chef preparing sushi, those 2 little rice balls, I love it. You made everything so details, the prices, wasabi. Nice and colourful cake.
