Braided Pizza

Just a short blog entry with my favorite dough recipe used for baked pizza bases. It's been really easy to use..and I've worked out the proportions in "cups" to eliminate the hassle of needing to measure with a weighing scale. I think I've got it memorized..
Here's a video on how the braid was done...I'm not too good with "neat-ness" when I cook in a hurry...so please excuse my "spewing" braid and messy pictures. Personally I think its "messy-ness" compliments its delicious-ness! *shrug*

3/4 cup warm water
1 tsp sugar
1 7g pack instant yeast
2 tbsp olive oil + 1 tsp extra for coating
2 cups flour + 1 tbsp extra for dusting
1 tsp fine sea salt
Pizza topping ingredients
lots and lots of MozZareLLA!
Add yeast and sugar to warm water and allow to fizz and bubble for 10 minutes. Sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl and add in olive oil. Add yeast mixture and stir to form a sticky dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead till smooth and pliable. Dump it back into the bowl, coat in a little bit of olive oil and leave to rest. Cover with a damp tea towel. After an hour....the dough should be twice the size. Punch it down in the center and knead a little more before rolling out the dough. *watch video clip for braiding instructions..too difficult to put into words*MmMMmm......goooeeey.... messsyyy..cheesyyy ...*yum*!

*Mom has been wondering if I've been burning the candle on both ends....*laughs* erm....yes...and, no...
Well...It's Yes I AM making myself busy as ****...but no..it isn't exactly all work and no play...hehe ;)
I'll fill everyone in on my weekend activities tomorrow, Lets just say It involved quite a bit of alcohol..*innocent-grin* heheee
I need to get some uni work out of the way...
Catch ya later guys!
Wish me luck!

I've been reading your blog for a bit now (and have enjoyed it greatly), but haven't commented till now. That braided pizza looks absolutely delicious! I have just recently ventured into the wonderful world of yeast baking and am loving it. I have to try that one. :) - H
