Greens Oozing with tHick DeliciOus CHEese

A couple of weeks back, I recall receiving an email requesting a quick broccoli and cheese recipe. I'm not much of a cheese addict myself, but probably a bigger broccoli fan than most. Stubby leaves and puffy green bushes absorb so much flavor into their tiny morsels of bright green delights! I love how the thick stems give a good crunch and provide a distinct juicy flavor of its own as well.
I've been extremely busy with the preparations for the party on Saturday...and shan't be able to ramble on too much.
Here's the recipe..it goes with almost everything which cheese sauce matches up with. My recipe is for a garlic and herb sauce; but feel free to play around with the spice combinations to suit your palate.
30g butter
1/4 cup plain flour
1 1/2 cup milk
1 cup grated tasty cheese
spices, herbs, salt/pepper
Melt butter in the microwave in a jug. Whisk in all other ingredients(other than milk) until well combined and free of lumps. Pop the jug back into the microwave for another 20 seconds. Gradually add in the milk and continue to whisk. Microwave for another 2 minutes on high, stirring occasionally to create a thick and creamy sauce. Dump in the grated cheese while the mixture is hot and bubbly and stir to incorporate!
I served the vege's with a dainty piece of roast chicken marinated in a honey, herb and mandarin sauce.
