Hi. I stumbled across your lovely blog a couple of days ago, and I really like it! Thanks for sharing such lovely recipes.
I recently had something delicious called a Chocolate Brulee Tart in a cafe in Newtown, but haven't been able to find any recipes for it. Any chance you might be able to figure out how to make it? The chocolate in the middle didn't just taste like chocolate custard, but tasted a bit nutty and didn't really have a custard-like texture...
hey, glad you like my recipes..
About the tart...it looks quite interesting; do you know what texture the center had? and What is the top and bottom made of?
It's strange why its called a Brulee tart; when it doesn't have custard in it.
I defeinately need to eat it to try to make it! Haha can't tell by just looking at the picture. I'm not too far from newtown; might just pop by, when my exams are over
Haha. I realise you can't make it just by looking at the picture. :)
If I remember correctly, the center was moist, and seemed like it could be finely ground nuts with a chocolate flavour.
I hadn't really had anything like it before, and it was one of the best desserts I've had recently. It was from that cafe next to the Dendy, if you want to check it out. :)
I just wanted to say I find you and your blog charming! Keep up the good work and good luck with the exams.
Gonna make a batch of cookies now, with leftover Smarties... wonder where I got the sudden urge from?
Thanks ivy; for the good luck. I hope i won't be needing too much of it before tmrw though! haha hope your smarties cookies come out delicious! My choc-chip cookies are almost at the base of the cookie tupperware! Theyre EVIL! lol
I was looking for cooking ideas and I found your blog. Great food and great pictures of the food! Thank you very much! I admire your creativity
Thanks...that's very nice of you to say... :) just made my day!
Hi Su Yin, chocolate chips out from my oven. It's so yummylicious. My daughter loves it. Though my oven setting has to be lesser than 190C or it get burnt.
Wonderful recipe! TQ
Hey there :)
Im so happy that eveyrone's actually trying out the recipes! The feedback is really helpful.
Thanks anonymous...whoever you may be :) haha.
it was me Ramsis..^LOL^.
can we substitute the corn oil with ordinary oil?ie sunflower oil maybe?
i doubt it would defer too much in flavour...but i really couldnt tell; havnt tried it that way b4.
Good luck :P
i realize that this was posted long long time ago. But I just came across it and wanted to comment about the chocolate brulee tart. "brulee" actually means "Burnt" So Creme Brulee actually means "Burnt Cream". So just because it has Brulee in the name, it doesn't mean that there is custard in the tart. FYI.
but...this was a cookie...:S..i dont think I've made chocolate tarts b4
