FIFA !!!

I have no idea why I included exclamation marks in my post title. Nothing about soccer excites me. Well maybe just the Brazilian and Japanese players *swoon* but that’s beside the point. I always new FIFA had something to do with soccer and the world cup, but actually had to 'google' to find out what it was short for! The only thing I know about the World Cup 2006 would be that it is being held in Germany. You can tell I’m not exactly the sporty type of girl. I don't even bother watching the games, I just occasionally read about it in the news the next morning. Despite my attitude towards soccer; it’s hard not to get swept into the whole World Cup hype. Everywhere I turn I see and hear about soccer! The news, advertisements, television, sides of buses, friends, magazines and even while eavesdropping on strangers! I just had to stick my nose into all the excitement. And what better way to jump in than doing what I do best; bake Cupcakes! FIFA 'style~‌*gets excited* hahaI wish I were in Malaysia, I would definitely deliver a batch of these to my grandpa‌.he’s a soccer fanatic and loves his soccer watching nights with family and friends. I bet a couple of these cupcakes would make a great accompaniment to those long nights of cheering and laughter. Grandpa if you’re reading this, I dedicate these cupcakes to you. I miss the many nights I used to watch soccer with mommy, jie and pa at your place; even when I didn’t care much for the sport; but treasured the times we spent sitting as a family in the your living room. Despite the incredibly late nights and early mornings, I do hope you take care of yourself grandpa (Gong Gong), Love you very VerY much.

I made mini dark chocolate brownie cupcakes and topped them with a smooth dollop of buttercream coloured in drops of green food colouring. The soccer balls in the centre are novelty chocolate balls wrapped in foil which I purchased while shopping for food a couple of days ago. Last but not least, a Big thanks to Artem for the creative idea.
