Stepping out of the new..into the old...

Su spent her weekend strolling on old cobble stone walks ways within hidden alleys of St. Augustine with a sweetheart.Nikki and I packed up a cooler pouch full of goodies and headed up north to the First Coast region of Florida; where the oldest continuously occupied European established city, and the oldest port in the US ; the City of St. Augustine.Anxious to jump out of our stuffy car and run about outside; we fought past equally excited tourists for a (*#$&* parking spot close to the bay. As my level of patience began to wear low; I got a little feisty..swam past a couple lines of cars...and jammed my car into a perfect little spot! I can't say I didn't get a series of car honks on my tail though. *guilty grin* :P
Finally with the ocean breeze in our hair; we discovered more of the tiny ancient City and it's renown Spanish fort made from cockles and shells on foot.St. Augustine is the oldest city in America and was founded by the Spanish in 1565... the architecture was fascinating and the firing of the canon from the fort filled us with some excitement. Before heading home; Nikki and I were in need of a feast! We uncovered a quaint little Italian pizzeria close-by. It looked promising. To be honest; it was alright..but I wasn't much impressed... I shan't speak about it if I have nothing good to say.On our drive home; we had more than 2 hours to catch up and talk about nonsense. It was heaps fun! I love Nikki so much; we are always getting on each others nerves but it doesn't matter... we know we adore each other enough. It's a love hate relationship I can't get enough of! *giggle*
