Happy Birthday Dario~

Dario is Italian. The way he looks, his charm, his accent, his stylish air of arrogance....its all Italian.Don't let the rough exterior and stern looks mislead you though...he really is a sweet guy. Even funny with hilarious antics, when you catch him at the right times. :P
He has a real cool tattoo on his arm...I guess it shows his dedication to the dance.
There was a party celebrating his birthday last Saturday...it was Pot luck; and I assumed I was to be expected of a birthday cake. Naturally.
Due to lack of time...I didn't exactly turn up with cake. Instead, I came with cupcakes and a cheesecake to share. *shrug* I knew Dario would love anything I brought. Afterall...they're inviting the Person! Not the cake ... ;)Its so difficult to get him to make a 'normal' pose in front of the camera ...*faint* these were the best shots I could take. Must have been the alcohol...The only good shots I have of him are candid...*laughs*I made these cupcakes with b-boy themed faces on them which turned out pretty adorable if you ask me. I sketched a few on my sketch book and went to work with covering the cupcakes with skin colour fondant and tiny details such as caps and bandannas. (B-boys are breakdancers...if anyone's wondering :)
Everyone got excited when I arrived with the cupcakes...They ALWays~ get excited when I arrive holding a cake container! I wonder why...*rolls eyes* ;). Hehe
The boys began to pick out which of the cupcake faces they felt I modeled after them..*laughs* They were so excited to eat 'themselves'. I didn't have the heart to tell them; actually none of them were modeled specifically after anyone...well..maybe just this first one *giggle*
Dude with a Kangol Hat..it's just so B-boy!~ hehe

Bandanna peeping out of a ballers cap!
The breakdancers often wear a beanie with a special protective patch on over the top to aid their head spins...etc.
A shiny Tribal cap
Cheeky...
Gangsta~
Sleepy?...
I guess these cupcakes could be made to suit any theme...maybe a football team? Fairies?...Animal faces even...the possibilities are endless!

Your creations are amazing. I have lived and travelled through many countries and have always been interested in cooking in general but have a love for baking, but I have never ever seen such delicate, intricate and detailed work like your cakes! Now, I have a 2 year old daughter and I wish we could have a creation like yours for her 3rd b-day but we live so far away from Australia! We are here in California! They are pretty into cupcakes, the Americans. But, not even Martha Stewart (America's Donna Hay)comes close to your art. She would even be impressed! I love checking your website. Congratulations. You are amazing. Akiko Clifford, Hollister, California, USA
