Seppia is actually cuttlefish since squid ink is harder to come by and more bitter in flavor.

So it follows that:
riso al nero di seppia (rice in cuttlefish ink)
linguini al...
spaghetti al...

You get the idea.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24892184.post-55721027428694409892008-03-08T01:41:00.000+08:002008-03-08T01:41:00.000+08:00heya :)good to see you've followed your passion, t...heya :)

good to see you've followed your passion, that inspires me.

anyways, i went on exchange in italy and al nero di seppia literally means "at the (al) nero (black) of seppia (squid)" :)

food names in italian and french are wonderful- xtina -https://www.blogger.com/profile/16190018735669866737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24892184.post-1168832785645252082007-01-15T11:46:00.000+08:002007-01-15T11:46:00.000+08:00I first tried squid ink spaghetti at a restaurant ...I first tried squid ink spaghetti at a restaurant a couple of years ago, and tonight I found it in my grocery store! I'd never seen it retail before, but I picked some up and tried it tonight. I wasn't really sure what kind of a sauce to make, so I did a basic olive oil and garlic thing. It turned out ok. I guess I was mostly wondering if you've tried other sauces, maybe some kind of wine sauce or something creamier? I'd be interested in figuring out what else to do with this! I, too, love cooking, but am young and very experimental with the whole thing. Bon Appetit!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24892184.post-1161570803932085302006-10-23T10:33:00.000+08:002006-10-23T10:33:00.000+08:00YES, YOU ARE RIGHT: 'AL NERO DI SEPPIA' MEANS SQUI...YES, YOU ARE RIGHT: 'AL NERO DI SEPPIA' MEANS SQUID INK.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24892184.post-1154123816474563972006-07-29T05:56:00.000+08:002006-07-29T05:56:00.000+08:00thanks ally for the info :)thanks ally for the info :)Su-Yin -Décorateurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02815943675408514244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24892184.post-1153836008473363912006-07-25T22:00:00.000+08:002006-07-25T22:00:00.000+08:00no wonder you are soooo good! gheheno wonder you are soooo good! gheheLexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13162127264908779487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24892184.post-1153745589002342212006-07-24T20:53:00.000+08:002006-07-24T20:53:00.000+08:00lex: hmm..probably about 1-2 years ago...nothing m...lex: hmm..probably about 1-2 years ago...nothing more than that really.

al: Not currently; but that's quite a good idea!
